Adult Child Race
Last weekend, Abu Dhabi Sailing Club organised a special event for juniors and adult sailors. The event consisted of 3 back to back races where the object of the series was to pair juniors with adults in double-hander sailing Dinghies.
With a good turnout of 14 boats, most teams managed to complete the course in what was an exceptionally hot and humid afternoon but rather windy.
In the RS Feva category, the team of Marin Defour and Mike Hill swept the three races to claim first place, followed closely in second place by Ross McGrath and dad Mike, and in third place Millie Peacock and mum Paula. The team of Gael Defour and Blake Redding could have finished second if it was not for the last race where everything that could go wrong went wrong.
In the Kestrel category, the team of Antoine Victor and Julian Leruth swept the three races as well to claim first place, followed into second by the team of Joshua Reeve and Adam Jennings-Frisby and in third place the team of Max Victor and Pierre Defour. A special mention should go to Eliza Peacock and father Hank who missed third place by one point.
There were other boats taking part in the same race. In the RS400, Peter Tonkin and Julie Decaux came first and in the Laser 1, Jonathan Edwards managed to win all three races.
Trophies were later presented to the winners of the first three places.
